Barry Malone was the Deputy Editor-in-Chief for the Thomson Reuters Foundation until July 2025.

Born in Ireland, he has lived in and reported from Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tunisia, Libya, Iraq, Qatar and the US.

Before joining the Thomson Reuters Foundation for Context, Barry was a Reuters correspondent, acting managing editor of Al Jazeera Digital and executive producer of The Stream, Al Jazeera's flagship live talk show. He has also worked for Amnesty International and the United Nations.
